Voicemail to email: a small change with a big payoff

Traditional voicemail relies on someone remembering to check it. Email doesn't.

How it works

When a caller leaves a message, the recording is emailed to you as an audio file, with the caller's number and the time. You can listen from the van, forward it to a colleague, or keep it against a job record.

Write a greeting people respond to

  • Say the business name so callers know they've got the right number
  • Give a realistic callback time — 'within the hour' beats 'as soon as possible'
  • Ask for name, number and postcode; it saves a call later
  • Keep it under 20 seconds

Pair it with missed-call alerts

Most callers don't leave messages. An alert containing the number they rang from means you can still call back, which recovers a good share of the enquiries that would otherwise vanish.
