How to stop missing customer calls

Most enquiries that ring out go straight to the next company on the list. These are the fixes that make the biggest difference.

Ring more than one phone

The single biggest win. If a call rings you and one other person at the same time, the odds of it being answered roughly double at no extra effort. Sequential ringing works too when you want a defined order.

Have a plan for after hours

Decide what evenings and weekends should do rather than leaving it to chance: an on-call mobile, or a message stating your hours with the option to leave details. A caller who hears a clear message usually waits; a caller who hears endless ringing does not.

Make missed calls visible

  • Voicemail delivered to email as audio
  • Missed-call alerts by email or text with the caller's number
  • A shared log so two people don't ring the same person back

A missed call you ring back within ten minutes is still a live enquiry. One you notice next week is not.
